"FOLLOW ME AND I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN."

By choosing ordinary fishermen as His first disciples, Jesus was making a radical statement about who He chooses to become His influencers. He did not select the elite, the educated, or the powerful, but rather those willing to leave behind their old lives and venture into the unknown. The transformative power of discipleship lies not in one’s qualifications, but in one’s willingness to respond to the call. Jesus is calling ordinary people to an extraordinary adventure—one that will require courage, faith, and compassion. He promises not only to lead us, but to shape us, to give our lives a new purpose, and to make us partners in the work of gathering people into God’s redeeming embrace. To answer this call is to embark on a journey of discovery: of who Jesus is, of who we are, and of the world we are called to love and serve. It is to trust in the transformative power of His promise, and to cast our nets where He leads, with hope, humility, and unwavering faith. For contemporary Christians, this call challenges us to examine our own lives: Are we willing to leave behind our nets—our comfort zones, our certainties, our self-made identities—and follow Jesus into the unknown? Are we bold enough to step outside of the four walls built by human hands and gather the 'living stones' that will become a part of church that Christ is building? Are we open to the ongoing transformation He promises? Are we ready to participate in His mission of love and reconciliation?

"GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND MAKE DISCIPLES!"

To make a disciple (Greek - Mathtetes) by definition is simply to make a learner, a pupil, a student of Jesus. So, to make disciples is to invite others into a lifelong journey of learning, transformation, and obedience under the lordship of Jesus. This process involves more than a momentary decision or emotional response—it is a continual turning toward Christ in heart, mind, and action. Our mission is to: •Share the good news of Jesus with clarity and compassion •Walk alongside others in their questions, struggles, and joys •Teach the Scriptures and model the way of Jesus on a daily basis. •Encourage spiritual practices such as prayer, worship, and service •Foster communities marked by love, forgiveness, and The Great Comission. Yet, bearing in mind that while we are given the mandate to make learners, pupils, students as the word disciple means, the work of salvation and transformation—the awakening of faith, the conviction of sin, the granting of new life—remains the mysterious and gracious work of the Holy Spirit. Acknowledging that only Jesus can save does not render believers passive or irrelevant to the process of others coming to faith. Quite the opposite: Jesus’ final charge to us, His followers, the Great Commission, is both clear and dynamic. In Matthew 28:19-20, He commands, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Notice that Jesus does not say, “Go and save souls,” but “Go and make disciples.” The task assigned to Christ’s followers is not that of redeemer or savior, but of teacher, mentor, and companion. We are witnesses to what we have seen and heard, ambassadors pleading with others to be reconciled to God, and guides pointing to the One who alone can save.
